Description
The Birth of Jesus
We celebrate on December 25th.
The birth of Jesus took place in the city of Bethlehem. Mary, Jesus’ mother, was pregnant, and together with her fiancé Joseph, they traveled to Bethlehem to register for the census, as required by Caesar Augustus. Since there was no room for them in the city, they sought refuge in a stable, where Mary gave birth to Jesus and laid Him in a manger that was in the stable.
That night, angels appeared in the sky and announced the birth of Jesus to shepherds in the fields. The shepherds went to Bethlehem to greet the newborn. Wise men from the East also saw a star that led them to Jesus, and they presented Him with gifts.
The birth of Jesus is a holiday celebrated by Christians worldwide as Christmas. Nativity scenes, where Jesus is placed after His birth, are an important symbol of this holiday. They are set up in many homes and churches, reminding us of this sacred event. The birth of Jesus symbolizes hope, love, and giving.”
