Saint Gregory the Great

Feast day: September 3 / March 12

The name Gregory is of Greek origin and means “watchful”.

Gregory the Great was extremely talented and thoughtful. The Emperor employed him as a Roman prefect at a young age. After a few years, he relinquished his occupation and went to live in a monastery. As a monk, he built a number of monasteries and his efforts greatly influenced his selection as Pope.
